A beautiful, authentic piece of early New Zealand studio pottery history: a substantial hand-thrown stoneware pouring pitcher by the highly esteemed pioneer potter Roy Cowan (1918–2006). This exceptional jug displays a wonderfully robust form with a sweeping handle. It features a spectacular, complex ash reduction glaze boasting rich olive-brown and deep amber tones with magnificent iron-speckled crystalline texturing throughout.
