Selling a stunning, authentic mid-century pillbox/Cossack style winter hat by the iconic historic New Zealand heritage brand Kama's Silhouet This is an amazing piece of domestic textile history. During the mid-to-late 20th century, strict import tariffs meant overseas fashion houses collaborated with local factories to build elite designs. This piece features the original stylized silhouette label detailing that it was proudly "Made on License" right here in New Zealand. Similar structural headwear pieces from the Kama label are so culturally significant to domestic design history that they are archived across country institutions, including the New Zealand Museum of the Everyday and Tāmaki Paenga Hira / Auckland Museum In very good vintage condition, reluctantly selling as its too tight for my big head :( Measurements: Measures 24 cm wide when laid flat and gently stretched out across the inner band, giving it a total internal circumference of approximately 48 cm, so its made for a petite head!
