Rare vintage bohemian-inspired waistcoat manufactured by Brittania Sportswear, a popular American brand launched in 1973. This vest was made circa 1970s/1980s. The outer layer is made from a rich, woven sari-style brocade fabric. The use of genuine imported South Asian sari fabrics paired with rugged branded metal jean buttons is a hallmark design choice of that specific era. Brand's classic branded metal shank buttons, which were standard on their heavy-duty denim jackets and vests , have "Brittania " embossed on them. Black cotton lining, back, two pockets in front. Perfect vintage condition, MINT. Comes from non-smoking home. Very hard to find anywhere in such great condition - a collactors peice which is so on trend at the moment too, as it has bohemian,whimsigoth, indie sleaze, dark academia and festival layering vibes.
